Chin Bioplasty
Chin bioplasty makes it appear more harmonious with the rest of the face. This procedure varies according to the individual needs and wants of each person.
Made uncut and with almost zero bleeding, bioplasty provides chin symmetry to the face. Biocompatible materials are used during the process, preventing reaction of the organism. In addition, the procedure happens with local anesthesia in the doctor’s office. It can usually replace the surgical mentoplasty that is done with the use of dentures and general anesthesia.
This is one of the types of facial bioplasty in which, if there is interest, patients have the possibility to view the entire procedure through a mirror, and can give their opinion about the expected result. Even so, it is important to aim that the final word should always come from the attending physician, as he has studied human traits very well and will not let inharmonious lines be drawn on his patient’s face.
The product used for the chin bioplasty process is polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA). This substance is formed by microspheres of dimensions that can be from 40 to 60 microns. Thus, phagocytosis of the inert biopolymer by macrophages (cells responsible for removing declared exogenous substances) is impossible. The introduction is definitive and is preserved in the implanted region, neither changing places nor being reabsorbed by the organism.
