Another study by the Dr Roberto Chacur was published in the journal Plastic Surgery & Hand Surgery. The article, from April 2019, reports a case of aesthetic correction of the lesion by post-liposuction corticosteroid infiltration using subcision, PMMA filling and fractional CO2 laser. The article is signed by Dr. Roberto Chacur, Dr. Honório Sampaio Menezes, Dr. Nívea Bordin Chacur, Dr. Rodrigo Cadore Mafaldo, Dr. Danuza Dias Alves, Dr. Leandro Dias Gomes, Dr. Renata Bataioli and Dr. Gina Matzenbacher .
The case reported in the studies concerns a 40-year-old woman, born in São Paulo, who presented severe skin atrophy, acromia and irregular skin texture, due to an attempt to correct post-abdominal liposuction fibrosis through corticosteroid infiltration.
Subcision treatment was performed in a single session. During this session, 26 ml of PMMA was implanted with a microcannula. Subcision was used to correct the skin relief.
A significant improvement was observed using four techniques together. Subdermal PMMA filler, which was used to stimulate collagen production, restore volume and correct skin irregularities, showed good results, as did radiofrequency correction of subdermal skin irregularities and epidermal repigmentation using fractionated Co2 Laser.
